- Concept study using transducer datasheets
This is a complete design in a virtual environment using a CAD tool and the transducer datasheets. The study proves the feasibility of the loudspeaker design regarding the wanted specification for SPL, cabinet diffraction behavior, sensitivity, bandwidth, impedance, room power, directivity index, maximum SPL, power management. - Final design using measurements – after concept study
Using acoustical and electrical measurements, the concept design is checked and refined. - Speaker design using cabinet measurements – no concept study
Acoustical and electrical measurements are used for the SPL and impedance curves needed for the design. Transducer models can be made to correct the acoustical measurements at low frequencies if needed. If off axis measurements are available, the room power response curve can be calculated also. - IEC baffle measurements
The transducer is mounted on a 225 Hz IEC baffle. SPL and impedance are measured. The measured curves can be used to make transducer models for simulation and to check the measurements that are done with the transducers mounted in the cabinet.
